The house built for a family of five people in Milan is located in an urban lot and had the only finestrabile wall facing north. We therefore distributed the four levels of the house around two empty glass spaces in order to bring the inside of the ambients. The glass covered stairs (in glass themselves) and a glass-enclosed patio runs through the children's room and living room.
This subdivision is also indicated on the facade played on two different depths, one characterized by a colored plaster of a bright red and the other in wood of Canadian cedar.
Objective of the project was to develop a low-energy house. In fact we used high thermal insulation requirements to isolate the most of the building and technological solutions to save energy (solar panels for the production of hot water, forced ventilation system with heat recovery, heating with radiant floor panels).
